Samsung may have set the bar of smartphone performance with the global version of the S3 with quad-core processors but LG seems to be working on a new smartphone that beats all. The new rumored LG Optimus G has some very impressive specs if reports from a Korean news site AsiaToday are anything to go by – with a quad-core processor, 4G LTE capability and a number of tricks including Voice over LTE (VoLTE) capability.
According to the reports, this new Optimus family member will feature a True IPS 4.7 inch display, a high quality 13 megapixels camera and 2GB of RAM and probably a 32GB or 64GB inbuilt memory. Other specs include Ice Cream Sandwich and LG’s latest UI v3.0. These are impressive specs but I wish we could have more specific details especially concerning the graphics memory and other details about add-on services that will give this device an advantage over the S3.
What is impressive is the new Snapdragon S4 Pro quad core processor that has not been installed on any smartphone yet. Because of this, we can therefore rule out the tested and proven NVIDIA graphics capabilities – but let us hope LG will give us something we can talk about come the IFA 2012 event. Earlier this month, there was a rumor that an LG Eclipse 4G LTE Quad core heading to AT&T later this year, could this be the one? Let us wait and see.
