LG Optimus 2X is rumored to get the Android 4.0 update. But until last month, it was totally denied that the LG Optimus 2X will not be getting the Ice Cream Sandwich. However, things might have turned around for the Optimus 2X now because there seem to be a glimmer of hope for those who still believe – word on the street has it that LG’s Korean office has claimed that an Ice Cream Sandwich OS update is still in the company’s pipeline. However, there is a very high possibility that additional testing is still required.
Although, there are no promises made by the manufacturer to deliver the software update, but LG just might do their best to deliver this update to their users. Keep in mind that patience will play out the entire scenario and we do wonder whether the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update will be released on the selected markets or will it be available for LG Optimus 2X user’s state side as well.
The LG Optimus 2X or otherwise known as the LG-P990, was presented last year as the first and the fastest dual core smart phone on the market. The LG Optimus 2X won all the benchmarks people threw at it and most of those tests were not even using the latest features that its NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor can accelerate.
One of the key features of this smart phone was that it was able to record 1080p movies and shoot photos in burst mode like no other smart phone in the market. This was probably the make reason why this cell phone was widely sold. However, other features and specifications of this smart phone were nothing less impressive either.
The LG Optimus 2X came with a 4 inch LCD IPS display with a resolution of 8000 x 480. Powered by 1 GHz Tegra 2 chip, it was running on Android 2.2.1 Fro Yo at that time, which would make us think now that it should really be running on something at least Android 3.5. One of the key features of this smart phone was that it could record HD video, 1080p to be exact with its 8 MP camera that took stunning pictures in burst mode as well, which was all thanks to its fast photo processing, fast Panorama Photos and more. It came with an 8 GB of internal storage capacity and with a micro SD slot, its memory could be extended to 32 GB. For power, it relied upon 1500MAh battery.
The LG Optimus 2X users could really enjoy the Android 4.0 update on their smart phones. However, for now they would have to wait until official word comes on its update because as far as the rumors go, LG is still trying to make it work on their smart phone. When the troubleshooting and user functions are all set, then LG Optimus 2X users can finally get this update, but before that, LG would certainly announce this update as well, which it has denied to give to this point.
