We’ve done post after post about rumors hinting to the Galaxy S III getting Jelly Bean really soon. It seems that as we’ve expected, Samsung has been hard at work on the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the International Galaxy S III. The release of it has been said that it is slated for the end of August or an early September roll out. Today we’ve found proof and the first indication of what the new Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software would look like on the Galaxy S III. A video was released on YouTube showing of footage of Android 4.1 on the Galaxy S III. It’s leaked out from a Mexican site known as AndroidMX. You can check out the video at the end of the post.
The video shows exactly what you’d expect of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to look like on the Galaxy S III device. You’ll notice that all of the TouchWiz customizations are still there and that’s about 90 percent of what you would see in its normal operation. Of course, you’ll see all of the new Jelly Bean features everyone has been dieing to get and even have gotten thanks to the XDA Forums. Features like Google Now and the completely redesigned notification interface are there as was promised.
As for the supposed speed improvements, the Galaxy S III looks really fast on Android 4.1, but the device has always been pretty speedy on the previous Ice Cream Sandwich version. Thus, it’s nothing new as many people would say. Although some devices have seen huge speed improvements that’s not true for everything. Considering how fast the Galaxy S III already is, it wasn’t a surprise that there wasn’t a huge speed improvement.
Sure there’s a lot of new stuff in the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for all of the International Galaxy S III owners. Owners of the international version will be hoping for the rumors of release to prove to be true. I guess we’ll just have to see how it all works out at the end of the month or in the beginning of September when the supposed rumors say it releases. We’ll definitely be watching for the release and will keep you updated when we see the update begin to push out. As for the U.S version, there has been no word on that whatsoever.
Unfortunately I am really feeling that we won’t be seeing the Jelly Bean update for U.S versions of the Galaxy S III until the end of the year as was rumored a while back. It could even be a bit later if Samsung’s track record has been saying anything as of late. Hopefully I’m wrong and we’ll be seeing it very soon though (three cheers for brightening the situation!).
Has anyone else seen the Jelly Bean update for the international Galaxy S III yet? If so, be sure to let us know in the comments and we’ll get up a article on it as soon as possible!
