Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Trailer Teases Content Collection 4

While Content Collection 3 isn’t out for the PC yet, Activision is already teasing the fourth “final assault” map pack. It’s supposedly getting to arrive on the Xbox 360 on September 6th, which probably puts it for somewhere around October 6th on the PC. Downloadable Content for Call of Duty tends to be drastically late on the PC. This new DLC will be adding five new maps: Boardwalk, Off-shore, Decommission, Parish and Gulch. The only map that I would consider “looking good” is the Gulch. It really reminds of the popular Blood Gulch map from the days of Halo.

The trailer shows various previews of the five new maps filled with crazy violent action. You’ll see soldiers in a carnival trying to hit that blasted middle target only to be blown up by an RPG. I will admit that the effects in Modern Warfare 3 look great (obviously not as good as Battlefield 3, but we’ll exclude the fanboyism from this post) and from what I have seen, the game has looked very balanced. All that said, I don’t think this new Content Collection is going to be worth your money, it might be best to just hang on to it for Black Ops 2 when it arrives in a store near you in the month of November, right before the ringing sound of Christmas hits.

Hopefully Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will be able to mix things up a bit as Modern Warfare 3 wasn’t able to accomplish that uniqueness. I have high hopes for Black Ops 2 as it is supposed to be pretty futuristic and will really be changing things up for the Call of Duty series. I’m really looking forward to it and can’t wait to see what developer Treyarch has done with the game. They’ve said that they really want to mix up the multiplayer, so lets just hold on to hope that maps will actually be worth the extra money after having to pay the $60 for the game already.

Again, it does look pretty cool, but is so not worth the money that they’re asking for (as usual for Activision). Will anyone be picking up the DLC when it launches on September 6th or October 6th when it launches on the PC? What do you think of spending $15 on five new maps? Let us know in the comments below, we’d love to hear your opinion!
