Treyarch’s popular Call of Duty title has been ported to Android devices as Black Ops Zombies which is currently offered for $6.99 at Google Play. This has been confirmed by Ideaworks Game Studio and Glu Mobile, Inc who adapted and distributed the game for the mobile platform, respectively. However, Sony has won a 30-day exclusivity bid so Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies will be made available for Xperia devices for a month.
“We couldn’t be more excited to launch first on Sony’s critically acclaimed line-up of Xperia devices,” said Greg Canessa, Vice President of Mobile Development at Activision Publishing, Inc.
Among the many promises made for the blockbuster title are the following features:
Kino Der Toten. It can literally be translated to English as “Cinema of the Dead,” this map is one of the most acclaimed environment for CoD gamers. Ideaworks Game Studio promised to make the port as close to the original version as possible. Thus, we could expect to see Crawler Zombies and Fire Pit trap in this version of Kino Der Toten.
50 Levels of Dead Ops Arcade. Dead Ops Arcade is the perhaps the most popular map in the Black Ops title. In the original version, it could be unlocked by typing 3ARC UNLOCK in the CIA computer but the Android version offers it as a 50-level feature for gamers to complete. This is never going to be a short game and while the developer promised smooth controls, having to play Black Ops Zombies on a touchscreen might be difficult for some hard core gamers.
Last Stand Mode. It’s been confirmed that there will also be Last Stand Mode in the Android version offering Quick Revive in single player mode. Basically, this is a survival mode for Black Ops and it will be featuring almost everything from the original version.
Pack-a-Punch and Mystery Boxes. In light to making the Android version as close as possible to the original version, there will also be Pack-a-Punch, Mystery boxes and other perks that gamers are used to seeing while playing Black Ops in PC or consoles.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies is now available at Google Play Store for $6.99. Treyarch and Activision wanted that its all-time popular title can be also be appreciated by mobile gamers. Basically, this version is seeking to provide gamers a platform where they can continue playing with their favorite game on the go.
For now, you may be seeing a note that it’s not compatible with your device but wait until early September and you will be able to install it successfully.
