The Lumia 800+Entertainment bundle is now available for $599 at Microsoft’s online store. The smartphone as you might know is the smaller sibling of the Lumia 900 and is widely popular in Europe and Asia, not so much in the U.S though. It seems like Microsoft is hit pretty hard by the recent reports suggesting disappointing sales of the Lumia range in the U.S, hence explaining the super saver deal started by the company.
For $599 Microsoft is selling the Nokia Lumia 800 smartphone + the Nokia Purity HD over-the-ear headphones made by Monster + the Play 360 speaker by Nokia which can work over Bluetooth to play audio from your Lumia smartphone. The speaker supports NFC as well. All this for a surprising price of $599 on the online Microsoft Store.
To give you a rough idea of how much you can save here, the Lumia 800 retails at approximately $380-$400 for a fully unlocked version on Amazon. The Purity HD headset goes for about $130 and the Play 360 speakers for about $150. So that is savings of about $60 for a phone and some fancy accessories. I’m not sure if this will have any takers, but the deal seems too good to skip. The Lumia 800 is one of the first Nokia made Windows Phones and hasn’t been popular in the States, especially after the Lumia 900 was announced on AT&T.
The plight of the Lumia 900 owners is totally different. A few owners are disappointed with the lack of support provided by Microsoft. The Lumia 900 is relatively new to the market, available since April, so the frustration is understandable really. Perhaps, Microsoft could devise a plan which would provide some sort of an upgrade to newer customers. But that would lead to fragmentation, and that wouldn’t go down well with the customers either. So basically when we come to think of it, Microsoft didn’t plan the whole thing all that well.
But by launching promotional offers like these, Microsoft could really attract customers. We saw the Lumia 900 take a price dip, which according to Nokia was to boost sales of the device. So this is another effort to increase the sales of Nokia Windows Phones. The $50 Lumia 900 or the $599 Lumia 800 + Entertainment bundle, is indeed a great plan. Will it translate into actual increase in sales? Only time will tell. So head over to the link below and place your order for the Lumia 800 along with the bundled goodies. You can’t go wrong, considering that the Windows Phone 7.8 update is on the horizon, which is merely a consolation for the users. The bundle is available in black and magenta colors.
The Lumia 800 comes with a 3.7-inch ClearBlack AMOLED display, 16GB of internal storage, an 8MP camera and a 1.4 GHz CPU.
