Rumors are already abounding about what next Apple is up to with their iPad. While some rumors are pointing towards a newer and more revamped model which could be called the iPad 4 and come with several upgrades, there are some in the industry who don’t think that way.
Recently the DigiTimes had reported that an unnamed source from an Apple manufacturing unit has revealed it to them, after doing the same to a Taiwanese tech journalist that Apple is working on a revamped iPad. While speculations were already adrift about the possibility of Apple coming out with a smaller and cheaper version of their immensely successful tablet, this rumor adds fuel to the fire that a new iPad is already being groomed for launch.
One of the key developments that the new iPad as per these iPad rumors is that the screen will be made thinner among other changes to correct some of the nagging issues of the iPad 3. A major issue being faced is the heating up of the device when being used for prolonged period. The current iPad 3 is being powered by the A5 Quad-core chip. There is a talk of an A6 Quad-core chip developed by Apple. So it could very well be that the new iPad could be powered by the rumored A6 chip.
However listening to these iPad rumors cannot help, but why would Apple be looking to launch something so quickly after launching the third generation tablet? If we talk about a thinner and smaller tablet, this rumor could very well be indicating the development of the 8-inch iPad Mini, which should be a competition for the Google Nexus 7. Other than that, there seems to be no reason for Apple to concentrate on another release of the iPad so soon.
