MobileSyrup picked up this scoop about the imminent availability of the HTC Desire C on Rogers Wireless Canada. Although no dates are yet made known, MobileSyrup has found evidence that HTC is shipping cases for the HTC Desire C model to Rogers Wireless. Needless to say cases can’t be going on their own, so the phones are either already there or soon to follow. So we can expect an announcement very shortly in this regard.
The question is what are the specs of the HTC Desire C about to hit the Canadian shores? One look at the specs and you would have to agree that this is not at all in the high end and should be only exciting consumers who want a smartphone badly and can’t do without it.
It features a 3.5-inch HVGA screen and a 600MHz processor. It has a 512MB RAM with MicroSD card slot for storage and a 5-megapixel rear camera. The Beats Audio technology should excite users, but that is just about it. Although the phone carries a stock Ice Cream Sandwich firmware, the slower processing speeds of the phone would certainly not be exciting any tech freak in Canada.
If you still find it an attractive proposition to go for the Desire C, expect it to be available for free for your three-year commitment. If you are not interested in a contract and would rather go for an unlocked bootloader, then this baby should be a bargain at around $150.
Don’t commit to pay anything more than that. Even though the question remains as to why someone would be desperate enough to buy a dinosaur when there are plenty of better options, including the latest smartphone from Sony, the Xperia Ion also making waves in Canada at Rogers Wireless.
