LG has brought dual SIM capabilities to the [easyazon-link asin=”B0060NG6M2″ locale=”us”]LG Optimus[/easyazon-link] L3 E400 renaming the product as the LG Optimus L3 E405. This device, which had been recently announced in Ukraine, joins LG’s other dual SIM smartphone called the Optimus L5 in the South Korean company’s lineup. It will probably be available soon in other countries in the same continent, as well.
Dual SIM devices allow users to take advantage of the services of two service providers. This means that a single phone can be used for work and personal needs, and that two persons can share the same device but have different phone numbers.
Apart from this key feature, LG added some other modifications to the LG Optimus L3 E405 model. For one, its casing appears a little differently from the original LG Optimus L3. The color of the steel rim has been changed, and touch buttons have replaced the single button on the LG Optimus L3 to give better access to frequently-used functions such as Menu, Home, Back, and Switch SIM Card.
All other features, however, remain the same as the L3. Its operating system is Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread that comes with the LG Optimus User Interface. Underneath, it runs on a single-core Qualcomm MSM7225A Cortex A5 processor with a frequency of 800 MHz. Likewise onboard is 1 GB of storage capacity, 384 MB of RAM, and an Adreno 200 GPU.
For its display, the device offers a 3.2-inch TFT LCD with a resolution of 240 x 320. A microSD slot allows for expansion up to 32 GB while a rear camera with a 3 megapixel sensor takes VGA videos and photos with 2048 x 1536 resolution. Users enjoy connectivity via Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, USB 2.0, and Bluetooth 3.0 + EDR. A-GPS/GPS is furthermore present, as well as a 1540 mAh battery.
The dual SIM LG Optimus L3 E405 will be in stores starting next month at the price of 1,500 UAH or 150 Euros without a contract.
