HANNspree’s HANNSpad SN70T3 Android ICS Tablet Bound to UK

HANNspree presented a fresh Android tablet for the low-end market called the HANNSpad SN70T3 at the Computex event in Taipei. Yesterday, the tablet was announced to be bound for the UK, where it will carry a tag price of £99.99. This price covers a two-year warranty for the device. It will be available in the area around the end of the month.

The tablet sports dimensions of 230 x 150 x 10.5mm. It is powered by an ARM Cortex A8 processor with a clock speed of 1 GHz running alongside 512 MB of RAM. Also, it comes with 4 GB of flash memory that may be expanded by means of a microSD card inserted in its built-in reader. Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is its operating system.

For its display, the tablet is packed with a 7-inch panel that has a resolution of 800 x 400p, an aspect ratio of 16:10. This capacitive touchscreen carries LED backlighting and supports five point multi-touch gestures. Camera-wise, the tablet is equipped with a single shooter, a front-facing VGA camera that has a 0.3 megapixel sensor. Users may connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/ connectivity.

The device moreover comes with a 3.5 mm headphone port, and a built-in microphone and 1W speakers. HANNspree has also thrown in a mini USB 2.0 cable to the package. The device comes with a list of pre-installed apps, as well, including 1Mobile App Market, Camangi App Market, Note Everything, among others. A standard Li-on 3000 mAh battery powers the device with as much as 5 hours of usage in ideal conditions.

The specifications leave much to be desired, especially when juxtaposed with tablets from more popular manufacturers. Still, what it lacks in hardware and features, it probably makes up for by giving Android 4.0 as its OS and having an inexpensive price.

The HANNSpad SN70T3 is not HANNspree’s first foray into the European market. Last year, it launched two tablets with fairly higher specifications than this considering the time of their release. Apart from tablets, the Asian company is also known for producing computer monitors.
