2) [easyazon-link asin=”B0051VVOB2″ locale=”us”]Amazon Kindle Fire[/easyazon-link]

[easyazon-image align=”center” asin=”B0051VVOB2″ locale=”us” height=”500″ src=”http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41Xx9W8gdRL.jpg” width=”500″]

When I think of dads, I tend to imagine the old fellow in bed with reading glasses with a book in hand. If that’s your dad, then it’s about time to get with the technology. Amazon Kindle Fire is the latest of the line of eBook Readers by Amazon. With over one million titles to choose from, your dad will be able to read the latest releases available in the bookstores, or even magazines such as Golf Digest.

The Kindle’s claim to fame is its anti-glare technology that allows the eBook to read almost like a book on paper. Unlike your typical tablets or laptops, there’s no problem reading with this device under the sun.

The touchpad Kindle fire runs on a special edition of the Android OS, so there’s a browser to surf the web and can be used as a personal organizer. If you want to get dangerous, there’s ROMs out there that can turn the Kindle Fire into a full fledged Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich tablet.  The machine is certainly powerful enough to handle the OS.

This is considered one of the cheaper tablets on the markets at $199.

3) [easyazon-link asin=”B005JTDFOA” locale=”us”]Olloclip iPhone Lens[/easyazon-link]

[easyazon-image align=”center” asin=”B005JTDFOA” locale=”us” height=”198″ src=”http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/21mOEp45pkL.jpg” width=”270″]
Olloclip is a clip-on camera lens for the iPhone 4 and 4s.  This 3 in 1 lens provides you the features of a bulky and expensive DSLR camera on your iPhone, capturing fisheye, wide-angle, and macro photos.  All for a relatively small price tag at under $70.

With the add-on lens, you can capture images in the following 3 popular styles:

Fisheye – full panorama 180 degree shot

Wide-Angle – extends the view wider than your normal peripheral vision

Macro Lenses – magnifies the object roughly 10 time to capture the details

 4) In-Car Speakerphones:  Jabra Cruiser2 and Motorola Roadster

Talking on the phone without a headset is not only dangerous, it’s illegal in many states.  If your dad happens to be constantly on the phone for business, these two popular bluetooth speakerphones for his car may come in handy.

[easyazon-link asin=”B0043M668G” locale=”us”]Jabra Cruiser2[/easyazon-link]

[easyazon-image align=”center” asin=”B0043M668G” locale=”us” height=”500″ src=”http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41XuxhcvttL.jpg” width=”500″]

This bluetooth in car speakerphone is sleek looking and the installation is simple.  The pairing instruction should be painless just like any other bluetooth connections, and afterwards, simply leave the device on your sun-visor in your car, then the device will automatically connect to your phone when you enter your car.

The best feature is the ability to output the sound through your FM radio so the voice comes out smooth and clear.  The device also allows two active connections at once.

Jabra is one of the leaders in hands-free technology, and it’s priced at a reasonably around $56.

[easyazon-link asin=”B004877KOK” locale=”us”]Motorola Roadster[/easyazon-link]

[easyazon-image align=”center” asin=”B004877KOK” locale=”us” height=”500″ src=”http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41fj0xFYPiL.jpg” width=”402″]

The Roadster has most of the key features of the Cruiser2, but what stands apart from competition is Motorola’s proprietary technology Motospeak, which can listen and dictate text messages.

Some users who owned both devices have mentioned that the Jabra Cruiser2 may have a slight edge in the voice quality and clarity.  But bottom line is both devices do a great job for its intents and purposes, and both at a very similar price points.  You can’t go wrong with either one.
