Acer has brought out the new Aspire S5 391H74U ultrabook, a device that boasts of both mobility and multiple functionalities.
This device features an LED-backlit 13.3-inch TFT LCD WXGA screen with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. This screen carries CineCrystal and sports an aspect ratio of 16:9. Users will enjoy the quality provided by the Intel HD 4000 graphics controller on this display.
Inside, the ultrabook runs on an Intel Core i7 – 3517U processor with a clock speed of 1.90 GHz. It comes with an Intel HM77 chipset, 4 MB cache, hyper-threading, and 64-bit processing. Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit is the device’s operating system.
Meanwhile, it has a 4 GB DDR3 memory, and a Solid State Drive of 256 GB. Likewise, users can opt for expansion from a 2-in-1 card reader for an SD Card or a MultiMedia Card. The device comes preloaded with Bing and Bar Windows Live Essentials to help users get started on the device.
For networking, users are provided with Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0+HS. Users can furthermore connect the Aspire S5 391H74U ultrabook to other peripherals through an HDMI port, two USB 2.0 ports, 2 USB 3.0 ports, and a Thunderbolt port.
As for power, the device has a 4-cell battery and promises up to 6.5 hours of usage. Its maximum power supply wattage is 65 W.
True to the ultrabook label, the Aspire S5 391H74U has slim measurements of 11.2 mm x 15 mm x 324.4 mm x 227.3 mm. It has an approximate weight of 1.2 kg.
As with other Acer devices, the Aspire S5 391H74U comes with several exclusive features such as Acer Instant On that allows the device to rouse from Sleep Mode in just 1.5 seconds. Acer Instant Connect, which enables users to go online in as little as 2.5 seconds, is also cause for pride.
This device will be available starting next month in Japan for 150,000 Yen or around $1,905. No word is available on whether it will be sold abroad.
