The next iteration of Droid Does is available today in the Motorola Droid 4. This Droid 4 brings a five row keyboard and 4G/LTE to the “Droid” line, as in the original Droid concept with slide out qwerty keyboard debuted in November 2009 and followed up by the Droid 2, Droid 2 Global, Droid 3 and now the Droid 4.
The Droid 4 rocks a sexy shape with rounded corners that makes it look like it’s cousins the Droid Razr and the Droid Razr Maxx.
Like the Droid Razr and Razr Maxx the Droid 4 features Corning’s Gorilla Glass and a nanocoating that protects it’s inner workings from water and moisture that come in flash rain storms and accidental spills.

It’s also the first of the “Droid” named series to feature a 4G/LTE radio. 4G/LTE is now available in over 190 cities and covers over 200 million people. Verizon Wireless is being very aggressive in their roll out of the next advancement in cellular technology. They stated at CES that all future smartphones will need to have 4G/LTE built in. They’ve also said they are looking to gravitate people off of 3G and plan to have a footprint as large as their 3G network (the largest in the country) by the end of 2013.
As for the inner workings of the Droid 4, you’re looking at a 1.2ghz dual core processor and 1GB of LP DDR 2 RAM to properly handle the offload of both cores and make the Droid 4 FAST.
All of this with a 5 row qwerty keyboard with every short cut button you should need. It also features a 4″ qHD display. In the camera department you have an 8mp shooter on the back and the front facing camera allows you to video chat over Verizon’s 4G/LTE network at 720p
The Droid 4 is available today for just $199 on a new 2 year agreement at your nearest Verizon Wireless store.
