While we’ve been reporting on all the great devices introduced today at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, there’s one phone we won’t see at MWC that keeps coming back up in the rumor mill. That device, is of course, the Samsung Galaxy S III.
Samsung said earlier this year that they would not debut the follow up to the blockbuster Samsung Galaxy S II at this years Mobile World Congress. What we’ve seen instead is the Samsung Galaxy Beam (v2) and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. We have bets in thedroidguy office as to when we will see the Galaxy S III with most in agreement that it will be launched in May at CTIA in New Orleans.
While we’re waiting for it though, there’s no shortage of rumors, and “leaks”. This one comes to us by way of Venturebeat and Boy Genius Report. BGR is claiming that an unnamed source has told that that the Galaxy S III will rock a 4.8″ screen so just a tad larger than the Galaxy Nexus.
BGR has also reported that the Galaxy S III will have a ceramic back. Of course the rest of the device details include a quad-core processor, better cameras and even more improved on board editing.
We’ll have to see exactly what’s in store for us at a later date.. our money is in May.
