Asus is having a rather good show here at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona Spain. We reported earlier in the day that Asus finally unveiled the re-tweaked Padfone and is preparing it for market. Now up for your consideration is the new Asus Transformer Pad Infinity.
The Transformer Pad Infinity will come in three varieties: Wi-Fi, 3G and 4G. The Wi-Fi version will sport the quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor. The two versions with cellular connectivity, 3G and 4G, will have the 1.5ghz Qualcomm MSM8960 dual core processors. So far from what we’ve seen at the show Qualcomm has been doing a great deal of business because Nvidia couldn’t integrate 4G/LTE with the Tegra 3 processor.
More after the break
Asus has revamped the cameras on the Transformer Infinity line. The front facing camera has been upgraded to 2 megapixels while the rear camera is now an 8 megapixel beast with a 5 element lens and an LED flash. Neither of the Samsung tablets released at Mobile World Congress get close to this tablet camera.
The tablet is pretty darn thin coming in at just 8.5mm. The display is made out of Cornning’s new Gorilla Glass 2 that was introduced at CES last month. Asus has also stocked the Infinity line with their new SonicMaster sound, which they claim has super quality audio.
The Tranformer Pad Infinity will come to market with Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich. No word on availability but we’re thinking summer 2012.
