We’re just about half way through Black History Month, a time when we remember Black American’s who made a difference in everyone’s lives in one way or another. Google and the Android Market team have highlighted some great music by Black American artists in “Classic Black History Month Albums”.

All of the albums in this Google Music category have been reduced this month to just $3.99 for the whole album.

Some of the selections in the category include:

Stevie Wonder’s “Song’s In The Key Of Life”
Bob Marley’s “Exodus”
The Roots “How I Get Over”
Tupac’s “All Eyes On Me”
Jill Scott’s “Who Is Jill Scott”

and one of the most memorable albums of my childhood, Boyz II Men’s “Cooley High Harmony”.  There are 23 albums in the category and some great memorable music in there.

There is another category called “Black Rock Fundamentals” as well, and all the albums in that category are $3.99 as well.  Greats like Michael Jackson, Chuck Berry, Little Richard and Parliament and The Funkadelic are featured in that category here.

If you’re looking to beef up your music collection both categories are a great start, and a nice little tribute to some musicians that really made a difference musically and socially.
