AT&T and Pantech have announced a new 8″ Android tablet dubbed the “Pantech Element”. They went with the name “Element” because this groovy new device is supposed to have some semblance of water resistance. Pantech has chosen the slogan “Waterproof for life” for this new tablet.
Under the hood the Pantech Element is sporting a 1.5ghz dual core processor running Android 3.2, Honeycomb, so no Ice Cream Sandwich here.
There is a 5 mega pixel camera on the back and a 2 mega pixel camera on the front. The rear facing camera shoots 1080p video as well. The front facing camera is capable of 720p video chats.
It also has a feature called “Piezo Motor” haptic feedback. All of the ports and slots have covers that protect the Pantech Element from well, the elements.
The release date is unknown but we hope to see it this week at CES 2012.
