Motorola Droid Razr Owners Invited To Soak Test, Probably Not Ice Cream Sandwich

Motorola Droid Razr owners are being invited to a soak test by Motorola. A soak test is when an OEM sends out basically a beta version of an update before rolling it out to the masses. Motorola has a pretty aggressive soak test program and typically updates aren’t far behind the invitations to a soak test.

According to this post on Droid-Life Motorola Droid Razr owners in Motorola’s Feedback Network were invited to test out something new for their Droid Razr’s. No further details were given.

Naturally it was everyone’s first assumption that the soak test was Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, however according to this post at Phandroid.com, it’s more than likely an update to Android 2.3.6 which is still a version of Android. This update was leaked two weeks ago during CES so the news kind of fell to the wayside.

More after the break
The update with Android 2.3.6 for the Motorola Droid Razr is believed to improve 4G connectivity. Phandroid’s Chris Chavez also advises that this update comes with some graphical enhancements to Moto Blur and some new bloatware.

Looks like Motorola Droid Razr owners will have to wait a little while longer to taste the Ice Cream Sandwich.
