You know that person that buys you a present for your birthday or Christmas that is just so proud of themselves that they can’t wait any longer and tell you weeks before gift giving time? Well today that person is LG.
LG unveiled in a press release today, that they are unveiling a new 3D Google TV at CES next week. Come next week a trip to the LG booth will reveal a new Google TV with Cinema 3D. That means that you can watch it in 3d with the same kind of battery free 3D glasses you would use in the theater.
More after the break
The Google TV will also feature a “magic remote” with qwerty keyboard and LG’s own custom skin over Android 3.2 Honeycomb.
“LG has constantly strived to provide consumers with wider choices in home entertainment that bring the highest level of sophistication and convenience,” said Havis Kwon, President and CEO of LG Electronics Home Entertainment Company. “Through Google TV, LG has merged Google’s established Android operating system with LG’s proven 3D and Smart TV technologies, offering consumers a new and enthralling TV experience.”
What they have cleverly left out of the press release is what size this tv will be and if they will come in more than one size like the Sony Google TV’s did. After a rather soft launch of Google TV in the fall of 2010, Google has revamped the entire ecosystem, partners and all which is being dubbed Google TV 2.0.
LG is holding a press conference on Monday to show off this brand new Google TV alongside other new LG Smart TV’s powered by NetCast which according to the the South Korean based manufacturer, will be present on 60% of LG’s new flat panel TV’s.
