We are currently at the Huawei press conference at CES in Las Vegas. Today is press day and while the rest of the team is at the LG event down the hall I was shown a sneak of the Huawei Ascend P1 S and had to be here as Huawei announced the world’s slimmest smartphone.
This high performance phone comes in at 6.68mm thin. Its 4.3 Inch superAMOLED screen has a touch screen with 960×540 resolution. Not only that it’s surrounded by the greatness that is Corning’s Gorilla Glass.
The Huwaei Ascend P1 S packs a powerful punch with a dual core TI OMAP 4460 Cortex A9 Processor. It also has an SGX 540 graphic processor All this is running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich at launch.
In the camera department you’re looking at an 8 megapixel rear facing camera with auto focus and the ability to record 108p true HD along with a 1.3 megapixel HD front facing camera for capturing 720p HD video chat.
The Huawei Ascend P1S features MHL-HDMI connectiions, dual microphones and DLNA support. They’ve also added editing support for editing Powerpoint and PDF documents.
The Huawei Ascend P1 S has a 1800mah battery on board so it will last longer. Huawei is looking for a global launch of the P1 S sometime after April 2012
