We spoke with Scott Hirsch the founder of Appsbar yesterday. He’s really amped up about the progress of the Appsbar community and he has great reason to be.
When it comes to online and web Hirsch knows a thing or two. He began his career in the online industry when he founded the first opt-in email company. He went on to sell that company to information and credit giant Equifax for 135 million dollars. While he still dabbles in online and mobile marketing his passion and focus right now is appsbar.
Hirsch is having a great time teaching normal folks with little or no experience how to build apps. Appsbar is a free do it yourself service that lets people with little to no app development experience, create great apps. It’s very similar to the way Word Press helps writers and bloggers create websites with no HTML or coding experience.
The holidays were very exciting for Hirsch and Appsbar. Appsbar saw over 216,000 app launches during the holiday season. This is phenomenal growth for a company launched in April 2011. In fact Hirsch thought that maybe a few thousand wold sign up for appsbar, today there are over 60,000 new app developers in the Appsbar community.
Who’s using Appsbar?
The easy answer is everyone. Young people, old people, men, women and kids. Hirsch and the Appsbar are seeing apps created for all kinds of content including:
Sports fan apps
Music fan apps
Teachers and many more. One of the really cool use cases is that brides and grooms are using Appsbar to create wedding information apps, the same way personal wedding websites were all the rage 5 years ago.
Hirsch and Appsbar will show you just how easy it is to create an Android app with Appsbar at the Android Homecoming February 10th through the 12th in Sunny Mountain View California.
