Archos is the latest manufacturer to announce that their devices would update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. If you’re not familiar with Archos, they’ve actually been in the Android tablet race the longest. Their media devices resembled small tablets at a time before even the original Samsung Galaxy Tab had hit the market.
The original Archos MID’s running Android though had sync problems, a weird design and no access to the Android Market.
Fast forward to this year and Archos has two good Android tablets on the market in their G9 series. They’ve been testing out Ice Cream Sandwich on the G9 tablets and have officially announced that the 8 inch version and the 10 inch version of their G9 tablets will upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in Q1 of 2012.
