Samsung’s Italian Arm Announces Ice Cream Sandwich For Some Devices

It seems that the fine folks at Samsung in Italy have let the cat out of the bag by confirming Ice Cream Sandwich will come to a handful of devices. As our buddy Chris Chavez at Phandroid points out, this is a confirmed list only it doesn’t mean that your Samsung device isn’t getting Ice Cream Sandwich, these devices have just been confirmed already. None of the devices on the list should come as a surprise to anyone.

  • Galaxy S II
  • Galaxy Note
  • Galaxy Tab’s 10.1, 8.9, 7.7 and 7.0 Plus

Although the initial announcement of Ice Cream Sandwich, paired with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, was very phone centric, as you can see tablets are getting Ice Cream Sandwich. Of course, the Asus Transformer Prime is rumored to be rolling out with Ice Cream Sandwich in a number of weeks.

Samsung and Google announced Ice Cream Sandwich at an event in Hong Kong early on the morning of October 19th.

  1. I wonder how long though… Samsung developed the Nexus S as well, but how long was it until my Galaxy S received the promised update? Almost a year :-…

  2. Well it’s a pretty safe device list. I would have expected all of those devices to get ics. They are all current devices being sold!
