Motorola and AT&T just announced the Motorola Atrix 2 on Monday night here at CTIA.  We got to spend a little bit of time with the new device.

It’s just an upgrade to the previous Atrix. It has a little more rounded form factor. It also now ha an 8 mega pixel camera with dual LED flash.

The Motorola Atrix 2 still ha a 1ghz dual core processor but they’ve changed it from a Qualcomm SnapDragon processor to an TI OMAP processor.  This probably means a little better battery life.

The new Atrix 2 is not backwards compatible with the original webtop accessories however we’ve found out that the new Lapdock 100 and other webtop accessories will work with the new Atrix 2, the Motorola Photon 4G and the Motorola Droid Bionic. The new lapdock should be available early next week if not immediately on the 16th.

AT&T has decided to just skip all the other pricing and is releasing the Atrix 2 for just $99 on a new two year agreement starting October 16th. The original Atrix is being replaced.
