We had already heard reports that this would be the first device to feature Nvidia’s Ka-El quadcore processor (which really has five cores) but Shih confirmed that onstage, and now Asus has confirmed it with a landing page. The new tablet, dubbed the Transformer Prime, promises to be ultra thin, and ultra fast. It may also come out with Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich. Earlier this week Motorola said that Xoom would get Ice Cream Sandwich but also made it clear that they may not be the first tablet to carry the delicious treat.
More after the break
Asus is pretty mum on spec on their landing page. However they promise that this tablet will be faster, stronger, slimmer and sexier, which is of course a trend with Android these days.
The tech world was surprised at the original Eee Pad series of Android devices. So far the original EeePad Transformer and Eee Pad Slider have proven to be great pieces of hardware. We’re also expecting an Asus padphone device which melts the phone and the tablet into one device. However right now all eyes are on the Eee Pad Transformer Prime.
Do you think it will have Ice Cream Sandwich on top of that Ka-El processor?
