At IFA in Berlin a company called Medion introduced an Android Honeycomb powered tablet along with an Android, Gingerbread powered phone. The tablet has pretty standard Honeycomb performance specs. It will come with Android 3.2, Honeycomb. Under the hood you’ll find a dual core Tegra 2 processor and they aren’t sure if they are releasing it with 16gb of memory or 32gb of memory.
At first it will release in the UK through one retail channel and Medion’s online store. They say that they will offer a 3G version sometime in 2012. Since this tablet is releasing in the UK (and probably never the United States) it’s worthy to note in the UK they don’t classify HSPA+ as “4G”.
ZTE is also working on an Android powered smartphone for Medion as well. According to the rep at the Medion booth the device will feature a dual core processor, Android 2.3 and Navteq navigation (in addition to Google maps and nav).
Medion was also showing off several laptops and e-readers. They are a subsidiary of Lenovo.
