This is like the thing I’ve been waiting for most since CES, and I’m sure there are a lot of you in the same boat. No I am not talking about some tri-core, 5ghz tablet, that’s coming next year. I’m talking about Parrot’s A.R. Drone control app for Android.
Now if you live anywhere near a mall (as we most do) than you’ve probably seen the AR Drone copter at Brookstone. It’s an interesting contraption, part helicopter, part bad ass remote control vehicle. You may have even tried it out on an iPhone and thought “damn this is cool” well Android fans the wait is over. The A.R. Drone control app for Android is available now.
More after the break
Parrot recommends Android devices with Android 2.2 (Froyo) on board and a screen size larger than 3 inches. The app is optimized for Honeycomb tablets as well. What does it do you ask? It controls the A.R. Drone DUH!
The controller application attached to the quadricopter via wifi and then you can pilot your A.R. Drone to your hearts content.
Parrot has also announced that the SDK is available for Android developers right here so head on over to Amazon and get the Drone right now
