Earlier this week Toshiba announced a new 7″ version of their highly productive Toshiba Thrive tablet. The honeycomb beast of a 7″ machine will reach the United States in December, according to Toshiba’s US Press folks, however it looks like it’s heading to Australia first.
Unwired is reporting that the 7″ Thrive will be released in Australia next month for $450, which is par for the course considering the specs that are inside.
The 7″ Thrive is packing a 1ghz dual core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor. It has a rear facing 5 mega pixel camera for stills and HD video, along with a 2 mega pixel front facing camera for video chatting via wifi. It has the same display as the 10″ version, as well as the same ruggedized backing material that makes it harder to drop.
Even though Australia is getting it first, we’re confident we will see it before the holidays in the US.
