Thoughts From The Sidelines reported late Monday that Capcom has teamed up with LG to bring the Street Fighter franchise to Android via Street Fighter IV. Street Fighter IV has been available for iOS gamers for a while so it’s only fitting that it head over to Android. Pairing it with LG will mean that we may see this epic game on the new Nova screen phones.
LG has reportedly inked a deal with Capcom that will bring Street Fighter IV to the Android screen starting in the fourth quarter. The game is supposed to appear on yet to be released HD Android devices by LG. Street Fighter IV which will be pre-installed on some forthcoming LG Android devices however according to TFTS it will be available for play on LG handsets from the LG website. This is an “Exclusive” deal for the time being.
In regards to this partnership with CapCom LG CEO Dr. Jong-Seok Park said:
As we prepare our first HD smartphone for launch, it was important for us to be able to offer HD content that would really demonstrate this phone’s benefits. The HD version of Street Fighter certainly fills this objective. We are also confident that LG’s soon-to-be-unveiled HD display technology will give Street Fighter fans a whole new reason to play the game again.
