Last year’s original HTC Wildfire was one of the largest sellers among their entire Android portfolio for Taiwan based HTC. The follow up, the Wildfire S, is a midrange, great priced Android handset but doesn’t seeem to have the steam that the Wildfire had. Of course add to that the fact that the Wildfire was never officially released stateside.
Now we have a new device which was originally code-named the HTC Pico, because it’s small. HTC is working on some lower end, entry level Android devices to both beef up the eco-system and to have a more robust portfolio that caters to every segment.
The HTC Explorer features a 600mhz processor, 3.2 inch display with 480×320 resolution, 512mb of internal memory and 384mb of RAM. There’s also a rear camer that is 5 megapixels and it runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread with HTC sense version 3.5 on top.
Thedroidguy team will be live at HTC’s press event tomorrow morning where we may see this phone alongside the rumored Bass and Rhyme.
