Best Buy Shopper Takes Home Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 Before Launch

It’s still unclear as to when the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 will officially launch, but one thing is for sure and that’s that some Best Buy stores already have release day stock.  Report started circulating over the weekend that some Best Buy stores received Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9’s in their trucks.  We’ve heard several rumored dates for launch, the closest being September 25th.

Well in what seems to be an innocent enough transaction, a Best Buy customer went to their local Best Buy to exchange a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 that was somehow defective.  The customer then relinquished the defective tablet to a Best Buy customer service representative.  However when the customer service representative returned to the customer with a new tablet it wasn’t a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, it was the yet to be released Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9.

Obviously the customer took the few dollar loss in the exchange but proudly took his 8.9 inch tablet home and proceeded to send a picture to our friends over at Androidcentral.
