Earlier this year Pocketnow.com’s Evan Blass pointed out an interesting little tid bit of information about most HTC phones that had leaked before launch. What Blass found was that in official company issued promotional pictures the date on the device usually corresponded with the leaked launch date and sure enough the device would launch on the date in the picture or the day before or day after, as was the case with the HTC Status.
Now Phandroid’s Chris Chavez has revealed that this may also be the case with the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S II variant being called the Samsung Epic Touch 4G. In the photo above Chavez has highlighted that the date on the Sprint version of the device is in fact September 9th, the rumored release date for the phone.
More after the break
The AT&T model and the T-Mobile model are turned in a way that it’s very hard to see something that small.
On Thursday the Wall Street Journal ran a story citing anonymous sources that the Sprint phone would be the first one out of the gate. We hear at thedroidguy have heard both September 8th and September 9th. Those two days seem to be the key. Whatever the plan is it will be revealed now on Tuesday August 30th where we’ll be present at a press event in New York City for the US launch of the Samsung Galaxy S II. The event was originally scheduled for Monday but Samsung postponed in the interest of safety stemming from Hurricane Irene. It’s important to note that this was just a change in date for the press event and shouldn’t have any bearing on the carrier release dates.
We promise folks the Samsung Galaxy S II is just about ready.
