Reuters is reporting that Samsung has been granted their day in court to defend themselves against an injunction granted to Apple blocking the sales of Samsung Galaxy Tab 10/1 tablets from selling in the countries that are part of the Euopean Union (except the Netherlands). In case you’re not up on your world history the European Union consists of: Austria, Belgium, Buglaria, Cyprus, The Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, German, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovankia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the UK.  So yeah that’s a big injunction.

Apple has filed a separate injunction in Hague on three patent infringements to stop the sale of a few different Samsung devices in the Netherlands including the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

According to Reuters, Samsung will be able to appear before the same German patent court that granted the injunction on August 25th.  Although that’s before IFA. It’s expected for that court to take a few weeks to make a new ruling, despite the swiftness of Apple’s first ruling.  Dutch judge Edger Brinkman has said he would rule on the Samsung hearing by September 15th.
