HTC Evo 4G Top Android Device In Q2 2011

Posted on Aug 22 2011 - 10:24pm by Kyle

Despite all the new Android superphones released since June of 2010, the HTC Evo 4G on Sprint still reigned supreme as the top selling Android phone in the second quarter of 2011.  Wow!

Sprint’s flagship Android device beat out the likes of the HTC Thunderbolt, The MyTouch 4G, The Samsung Galaxy S 4G, and every other big Android device so far.  That’s gotta keep the folks at Sprint pretty happy.  The HTC Evo 4G even had a follow up in the Shift 4G that didn’t even come close in NPD’s latest rankings.  The HTC Evo 4G is a single core phone.

The top 4 devices were:
iPhone 4
iPhone 3GS
HTC Evo 4G
HTC Inspire 4G

That’s three phones all introduced in 2010 that are still on top in the 2nd quarter of 2011.  The HTC Inspire 4G on AT&T is the only 2011 device to make this list.

I believe so too. Bad thing that they are canceling the phone. I think that’s a bad move.
