While Samsung just recently announced a new ruggedized Android phone with a bunch of bells and whistles, Motorola (who is being acquired by Google) has announced they are releasing the next DEFY device. The original DEFY was released last fall and was the first water resistant Android device.
Our friends at Androidguys.com are reporting by way of Motorola press release, that the Motorola Defy+ is official and headed to Asia, Europe and Latin America. They are also hearing rumors that the DEFY+ could grace the shelves of US AT&T stores later this year.

The DEFY+ features Android 2.3 Gingerbread, a 1ghz processor, 3.7″ display, 5 megapixel camera, 2gb of storage and a microSD slot expandable to 32gb. The Gorilla Glass display on the Motorola DEFY+ is scratch resistant, dust resistant and water resistant. According to Motorola the DEFY+ can survive a sudden rain shower, a day at the beach or a night of partying.

Motorola also wants you to use the DEFY while you’re working out. In addition to making this workout proof they’ve also included the Cardio Trainer application. Keep up with your workouts using the brilliant 3.7″ display and the app combined. Also, store your music on the DEFY to jam out while you’re working out.
