Motorola Xoom 4G/LTE Upgrade Gets FCC Approval

When the Motorola Xoom debuted at CES and then at retail a few months later it was announced that there would be a 4G/LTE upgrade available sometime during the spring. Unfortunately that didn’t happen. Not to mention the fact that as we all know by now this upgrade involves sending your tablet into Motorola to get it.

More after the break

Fast forward a few months and that 4G/LTE upgrade has finally gained FCC approval which hopefully means that we will see the upgrade available in the next month or two.

Provided that you’re ok with sending your Motorola Xoom tablet into Motorola for the hardware upgrade than it should take about a week from the time you send it in until the time you get it back.  When that time comes you will need to make sure all of your data is backed up and send it into Motorola using overnight packaging, hopefully provided by Verizon/Motorola.
