Thankfully, there’s relatively little bloatware installed, save for V
Cast Apps, V CAST Media, V CAST Music, V CAST Tones, and V CAST Videos.
Verizon has pre-installed some other software, including 3G Mobile
Hotspot, Blockbuster, Amazon Kindle, Lets Golf 2, NFS Shift, Skype
Mobile, NFL Mobile, Slacker, and more, but those applications are often
very popular Android apps, too, and I’m a big fan of many of them.
Again, the other one unique distinguishable item about the HTC DROID Incredible 2 is the fact that its usual set of capacitive Android buttons will
actually rotate accordingly to the orientation. Definitely a nice touch
indeed, we still find ourselves accidentally pressing them since
they’re positioned very close to the edge of the handset.
Unfortunately the successor to the original Incredible isn’t blessed
with Sense 3.0, it’s still running version 2.0. The Incredible 2 also
doesn’t ship with Gingerbread, it’s currently only available with
Android 2.2.1. Qualcomm does have a working Gingerbread port, something
HTC is quite familiar with as all of the devices I mentioned above ship
with Gingerbread. The Incredible 2 is due for an update to Gingerbread
soon but if you buy it today all you get is Froyo.
