Samsung’s Google I/O Galaxy Tab Giveaway Paved The Way For Apple’s Discovery

As everyone knows Samsung and Apple are in a heated court battle right now over allegations made by Apple that Samsung stole their ideas and implemented them in their Samsung Galaxy S II, Samsung 4G /LTE (Droid Charge), Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9.

Apple has filed a motion for expedited discovery so that they can see all of the materials leading up to the production and manufacture of the devices in question. Samsung immediately filed a Motion to compel Apple to produce reciprocal expedited discovery on their next generation iPhone and iPads.

According to TDG’s legal advisor, Samsung would have been able to oppose producing not yet released models because leaks could  potentially harm Samsung however when they gave away 5,000 of the devices in question (Galaxy Tab 10.1’s) they lost that argument and made it a lot easier for the court to grant Apple’s request.

The funniest part of this whole thing is that Apple continues to by chips from Samsung’s semi-conductor division.  When it comes to Google’s Android operating system, Apple also just renewed a relationship with Google to use their search and maps in the next generation of i-devices.
