Endomondo, the famed multi-platform fitness app, has recently teamed with Ride For Your Lives for a cross country biking race. This cross-country bike race will be a non-stop trek on bike from California to Maryland. Ride For Your Lives is a charity to raise money for North Africa, and break a world record while doing it. The charity will raise money to support Northern Kenya in their struggle for fresh drinking water.
The bike will take place over the course of 7 days, and will be a non-stop relay race from coast to coast. This is where Endomondo comes in. Because other people will be interested in the progress of the bikers, Endomondo will be tracking the bikers statistics using GPS and then posting it on a live map for the world’s viewing. It’s great to see companies in support of one another in giving help to those in need, and it really shows where apps and services, whether Android, iPhone, or any other OS, can come together to lend their helping hand. With all of the technology we have now, i.e. Endomondo’s advanced fitness tracking, we can really impact the world to make it a greater place.
