Acer Iconia Tab A501 Clears FCC With AT&T Bands

While we were attending an AT&T event at CTIA earlier this year it was revealed that AT&T had some great Android tablets in the works for 2011. It was also reported that the Acer Iconia 500 tablet would be one of those devices.

The wi-fi version of the Acer Iconia 500 is getting great reviews. In addition to being a solid piece of hardware the Iconia features Android 3.0 Honeycomb and USB Host out of the box.

The Acer Iconia A501 is the Acer Iconia 500 tablet with 3G support. The FCC filing shows the Acer tablet with the GSM radio bands for 850 and 1900 along with WCDMA II and V bands.  Further research into the listing by wirelessgoodness shows that HSUPA and HSDPA were tested however there is no mention of HSPA+

T-Mobile just recently began selling the T-Mobile G-Slate which is a 4G tablet.  Sprint will start selling the HTC Evo View 4G the first 4G Android tablet to hit the market, on June 24th. It’s also been reported that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 4G/LTE will debut on July 7th at Verizon, this could be AT&T’s 4G tablet.
