OpenFeint, the largest cross platform social gaming network in the world has announced that they are currently adding 3 million Android users per month to the network. They attribute this growth to several top shelf iOS developers accelerating there Android launches.
OpenFeint credits developers like Glu Mobile, HandyGames, and Invictus to fueling some of the growth that they’ve seen in recent months. It was also announced earlier this year that OpenFeint has been acquired by Japanese social gaming giant Gree. Gree has decided to keep the OpenFeint staff in place and to help each other grow together.
In just two months OpenFeint has added 145 new titles. With this announcement they’ve added 16 new Android titles to bring their entire Android catalog to 460 games.
More after the break
“OpenFeint continues to make great investments in Android Gaming. They are a great partner for us and we strongly believe in OpenFeint and it’s social features to boost our top titles like the newest action-puzzler Happy Vikings” says Markus Kassulke CEO of HandyGames.
OpenFeint makes it easy for gamers to keep track of their scores and places in games along with how they rank among other users on the OpenFeint network. OpenFeint attributes it’s success on Android to a combination of developer interest in creating multi-platform games and the growing popularity of Android devices.
