Minecraft Coming To Android & iOS

The popular Indie game Minecraft will be making its way to Android and iOS devices later on this year and will have its official unveil at this years E3 Games Conference.

The first device that will be seeing this popular game is the upcoming Xperia Play from Sony. However, as time passes it will be released and become available to Android powered devices along iOS.

The game will be optimized for the Xperia Play with custom controls that will suite the Android device’s slide out game pad. Other versions will be tweaked so that users can play using just their touchscreen.

Minecraft is not being developed by the original creator, Notch, but by his colleagues instead, Aron Neiminen and Jens Bergensten.

According to a quote from an unnamed Mojang employee, “When playing on smartphones you will have a different screen size compared to PC, different hardware, different attention spans and thus thegame needs to be customized to fit the mobile specifications.”

At the moment it is not clear when the port version will be released or how much it will cost, but we are sure to hear more regarding this upcoming game at the E3 Conference that is being held next month in Los Angeles.
