With the slew of Android devices that have launched and are going to launch on Verizon Wireless, it is definitely going to be hard to choose just one. However, we are here to try to help your choice be simpler. Lucky for you and us, of course, we were able to get our hands on a comparison of the LG Revolution next to some of Big Red’s other android devices and also the Revolution next to some of the competition. Hopefully, this will help some of you narrow done your choices a bit.
The Revolution is one of the many upcoming high-end Android devices for Verizon and with the Droid Charge and Thunderbolt be just recently release, plus the upcoming Xperia Play and DroidX2 it will be hard to choose just one. However, the upcoming Revolution does seem like one hell of a phone.
All three 4G LTE devices on Verizon are very similar spec wise but there are some slight differences. The Droid Charge, Thundebolt, and the upcoming LG Revolution run on Android’s 2.2 OS, along with having dual cameras, HD video capture, 4.3″ display and 1GHz processors. However, only one of these devices has a 8mp with Dual-LED flash and that is the HTC Thunderbolt and the Droid Charge is right behind with an 8mp LED flash. The Revolution on the other hand does not have as nice of a camera as the other two, although it does sport a 5mp with LED Flash.
Another difference between these three 4G devices is the onboard memory. In this category are Samsung’s Droid Charge which falls behind with only 2GB of memory. The Revolution, on the other hand, doubles the memory of the thunderbolt with 16GBs of on board storage, which is not bad at all. As far as removable memory the Revolution only has a 16GB SD Card while the other two both sport 32GB.
Other than those few key features the devices are pretty similar spec wise. However, the question is how does the revolution compare to the competition?
As far as the comparision between Verizon’s upcoming LG Revolution to that of the competition there are many similarities and many differences. However, if you want speed the Revolution looks like the way to go, being on Big Red’s 4G LTE and all.
Once again the Revolution falls behind as far as the rear facing camera goes. With only a 5mp with LED Flash the Revolution falls behind AT&T’s HTC Inspire 4G which has an 8mp camera with Dual-LED Flash and also Sprint’s EVO 4G that sports the same 8mp camera. Besides that all three ssport the same 4.3″ display, 1GHz processor, and operating system. However, the Revolution does have one up on the Inspire 4G and the EVO 4G and that is a front facing camera.
Another way the Revolution out shines the competition is with it on board storage. The Revolution is one of two of the devices that has 16GB worth of memory. The Inspire, EVO, and myTouch 4G do not even come close to the amount of memory the Revolution and Atrix carry with them.
Each device also sports their own unique user interface. The LG Revolution has LG’s own personal UI while all three, Inspire, EVO, and myTouch 4G run a version of HTC Sense, and of course the Atrix which has Motorola’s custom UI, Motoblur.
Either way you look at it, there will be some hard choices to make if you are looking for a new Android device. With the amount of devices that Verizon has launched this month and with more to come choices will be hard, but hopefully now you may have been able to get a little closer and narrow down your perfect android device.
