Google IO Coverage: Check Out The Samsung Galaxy S Player

We had a few minutes to check out the Samsung Galaxy S Player probably the closest thing to an iPod competitor. The Galaxy S Player comes in both white and black and has a 5″ SuperAMOLED screen 1ghz Hummingbird processor, 8gb on board memory, and a microSD card slot for more memory.

With the news of Music Beta by Google combined with the power of the Samsung Galaxy S Player will provide the ultimate Android Music Experience.  Check out our video.  According to Engadget both the 4″ and 5″ Galaxy S Player will be available in the United States sometime in the 4rd quarter and are expected to make an appearance at the Samsung Product showcase this Spring.

Samsung made a big wave this morning at Google IO when it was announced that everyone was going home with a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 instead of the Motorola Xoom that was incorrectly rumored by both Phonedog and Phandroid to be the Motorola Xoom.

  1. Didn’t Samsung announce this exact device back in February or so? And promise a stateside release by the end of spring? Well, I have news for you: it’s the end of spring. FREAKING MAY 10TH. This had better be coming by the summer solstice, or I’m buying an iPod.
