Although the Sony Xperia x10 Mini Pro and the Xperia Mini never officially made it to the United States it was still a hot little phone. The two small form factor devices were released at last years MWC however after the lackluster performance of the full sized Xperia X10 the X10 mini pro failed to show up here.
There have been rumblings on the internet lately that Sony Ericsson was looking to revive the X10 mini pro line with newer versions this year and judging by the pics they’ve already started.
More after the break
Earlier in the year at MWC 2011, Sony Ericsson CEO Bert Nordberg, told reporters that the United States was a much bigger part of their 2011 plans. They made an agreement to release the highly anticipated Sony Xperia Play in the United States on Verizon Wireless. Sony Ericsson has also beefed up their presence in the United States and opened up shop in California.
We are hoping with this renewed commitment to the US we should see the mini line in carrier stores sometime this year. The only big technical detail to point out is that the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 minis for this year will come preloaded with Gingerbread. We are hoping that it’s the same implementation of Gingerbread that we saw when we looked at the Xperia Arc at CTIA.
