The Motorola Ming, A1680, is the first clamshell Android device. It was originally released in China in the second half of 2010 via China Unicom as a CDMA device. Taiwan carrier, Chunghwa Telecom, is getting the GSM version of this nifty little Android device.
The form factor makes this a unique device and speaks to the greatness of variety in Android. The other specs are on the lower level of Android, compared to what the US and Europe are used to.
The Ming features:
Android 1.6 (with no word on upgrade, and doubtful)
A unique clamshell form factor
3.1 inch AMOLED resistive touch screen
Stylus for handwriting
624mhz Marvell PXa935 processor
512 mb memory on board
miniSD card up to 32gb
5 megapixel camera with autofocus
If you live in Taiwan you can pick up a Ming for $310 (US)
Although this unique device is on the lower end both the Motorola Xoom and Motorola Atrix are expected to show up in Taiwan this year.
