Gingerbread Source Code Released For Samsung’s Galaxy S Devices

Evidently, Samsung is hearing the faint cry of users begging for updates because they seem to be making progress. We know that Samsung has started rolling out Gingerbread for its UK Galaxy devices, and now they have released the source code for Gingerbread altogether. That’s right folks, we’re talking about Samsung. Hopefully, we will see the Gingerbread updates come to US devices as well because I know you Fascinate users are really sick of dealing with 2.1. Anyways, for all of you rooted Galaxy users out there, this source code being released is a great thing because now we can see some real Gingerbread roms for the Galaxy lineup. Hooray! This is definitely a step in the right direction for Sammy, as they probably want to show everyone that they will, in fact, update their devices prior to the launch of their much hyped Galaxy S II. So to all of you rooted freedom fighters and rom developers, get at that source code. I can’t wait to see what the community has in store.

Here is where you can find the source code (i9000).
