Galaxy Tab Update, But No Honeycomb

While we have been patiently awaiting word regarding whether or not the Samsung Galaxy Tab would ever receive  an update to Android’s Honeycomb OS, Samsung has continued to show off their newer tablets already running the Honeycomb software. While all these new tablets are being released, Samsung has yet to make Honeycomb available to their first tablet.

Verizon and Samsung haven’t forgotten the Galaxy tab though. According to Verizon’s website, their is an update for the Galaxy Tab called EC02, and both Verizon and Samsung are encouraging owners to install this update that includes various enhancements to the Galaxy Tab.

This OTA update  includes a list of new enhancements. Some of these include, enhanced browser performance, less impact on battery while searching for Wi-Fi Hotspots, hyper-links can be accessed directly from an email, Adobe Flash Player update, and much more.  The full list can be found here on Verizon’s website.

Unfortunately, at this time there still has yet to be mention if the Samsung Galaxy Tab will be receiving Honeycomb or not. It still seems up in the air at this time, but hey at least there is a small update available to tide us over until we here more. So go download the update and let us know your thoughts on it in the comments below.
