Tuesday night was a big night for Samsung Mobile, the largest provider of Android Phones in the United States. Samsung Mobile picked up two Mobiletrax industry awards as part of the Wireless Innovators event at CTIA.
Samsung Mobile picked up the award for best tablet for the Samsung Galaxy Tab and best Windows Phone 7 device for the Samsung Focus. Accepting the awards for Samsung was Director of Publicity Kim Titus. After a long day of presentations and rehearsals, and then an evening of events Titus told Thedroidguy “It’s been an incredible night for Samsung”.
Moments before Samsung won the tablet award, Motorola Mobility did a presentation on their Motorola Xoom tablet and the Motorola Atrix 4g and webtop appliance. During the presentation Motorola Mobility’s Vice President of Product Management Mohit Bhushan had said that the Xoom was the first true Android tablet because the other’s used an Operating System designed for phones. Samsung’s award was a testament to the faith consumer’s have in the Galaxy Tab line up, as well as to the lackluster sales Motorola and Verizon have experienced with the Xoom.
Meanwhile while Samsung was winning awards at the Wireless Innovators dinner, just down the stairs from that event, Samsung was also picking up an award from Wireless Week. Samsung Mobile was recognized by Wireless Week for their hardwork and innovation surrounding their Galaxy S line of mobile products.
Dale Sohn, President of Samsung Mobile said
. “Receiving this Leadership Award is a clear sign of Samsung’s commitment to not only creating innovative products, but enhancing our customers’ work and personal lives. We look forward to the future and continuing to produce groundbreaking mobile devices for our loyal consumers.”
