Verizon Now Subsidizing Samsung Galaxy Tab at $299

| February 24, 2011 | 4 Comments

With the release of the Motorola Xoom and it’s choice of month to month or subsidized pricing Verizon Wireless has decided to subsidize the Samsung Galaxy Tab as well.

To be eligible for subsidized pricing for the Galaxy Tab you will need to sign up for a data plan with a minimum of 1gb for $20/mo. You can still buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab for $499 without contract and purchase data from Verizon Wireless alacarte.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab is often considered the first legitimate Android tablet. The 7″ tablet features Android 2.2 (Froyo) and Samsung’s touch wiz interface.  It has a 3mp rear camera and 1.3mp front facing camera for video chat capability.  Samsung announced the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona earlier this month.
